Spotlight on new faculty - Meet M. Layne Jenson, M.D.

M. Layne Jenson, M.D., assistant professor of orthopaedic sugery, is among the many new faculty members at UNMC.

Title: Assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery

Specialty: Pediatric orthopaedic and spine surgery.

Dr. Jenson's areas of focus include:

  • Scoliosis;
  • Hip dysplasia;
  • Pediatric and adolescent sports injuries;
  • Limb deformity; and
  • Trauma.

Medical school: Texas Tech University School of Medicine, Lubbock, Texas, 2005

Residency: Orthopaedic surgery residency, Texas Tech University Health Science Center, 2010

Fellowship: Ryerson Fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery, Northwestern School of Medicine, Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, 2011
