What’s it like to be a nursing student? What requirements do you need to get accepted? What’s the future of nursing? These and other questions will be answered Sunday, Nov. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. during Nursing Showcase at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science, 41st St. & Dewey Ave.
The event is targeted towards those interested in learning about pursuing a bachelor’s (BSN), or master’s (MSN) degree in nursing, including high school students and their parents, college students, and current nurses. During Campus Showcase, nursing students, faculty and staff will provide expert information, answer questions and provide hands-on activities.
The college offers traditional and accelerated BSN programs in nursing in five locations: Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney, Scottsbluff and Norfolk as well as a MSN program with specialty areas in leadership and for nurse practitioners.
“We invite potential students to check us out, see the campus, learn about our programs, find out what nursing college is like and experience patient care through our state-of-the-art patient simulation labs,” said Juliann Sebastian, Ph.D., dean of the UNMC College of Nursing.
Through various efforts, the college has expanded the numbers of students in its programs to reduce Nebraska’s nursing shortage.
Participants also will learn about:
- How to be a successful applicant
- Scholarships and financial aid
- The specialty areas that comprise the master’s program
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. for registration with the program starting at 2 p.m. Parking is available in the parking garage and surface parking across from the college.
To reserve a seat and for more information, contact the college at 402-559-4110 or email@example.com
