Students sought to serve as ambassadors for international students

January 21, 2013

UNMC students who were born in the United States or who have lived here for 10 years or more are sought to participate in the UNMC International Student Ambassador Program.

The purpose of the program is to pair all incoming international students with U.S. students to assist the international students' adjustment to life in Omaha. The relationship is to be social rather than scholarly.

This fall, 2012, UNMC has 232 international students enrolled, including 83 new students, and international student enrollment is expected to continue to increase for the foreseeable future.

Interested students should contact Deb Keim at 402-559-4437 or debra.keim@unmc.edu to volunteer or for more information.
