Jim Stimpson, Ph.D., associate professor of health services research and administration, will introduce the documentary, which discusses the tragic and little-known story of an auto and oil industry campaign, led by General Motors, to buy and dismantle streetcar lines.
The 55-minute documentary by Martha Olson and Jim Klein was first broadcast on August 6, 1996 on PBS.
The film will be shown at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Maurer Center for Public Health, Room 3001. A panel discussion will follow the film. The session is co-sponsored by ModeShift Omaha.
