Steve Caplan, Ph.D., an associate professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the College of Medicine, is featured in the most recent issue of ASBMB Today, published by the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. The question-and-answer article, written by Rajendrani Mukhopadhyay, discusses Dr. Caplan's career as a novelist and his military experience, as well as his research focus. Dr. Caplan's third novel is slated for release at the end of this year, according to the article.

The 2013 American Orthopaedic Association Austrian-Swiss-German (ASG) Traveling Fellows were in Omaha this week as part of a monthlong expedition, visiting 11 orthopaedic departments across the U.S. and Canada. The fellows spent time in the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation observing clinics and surgeries, but also took in a College World Series game. The fellows presented during Monday's grand rounds.
