As part of the new recycle bins rollout, LiveGreen is hosting two "green" contests this week for employees to win prizes.

All week long, LiveGreen Chair Melanie Stewart's business cards can be found on the back of some randomly-selected recycling bin sign holders.

If you find one of Stewart's cards, remove it, get the code word off the back of the card and contact her to receive a prize from the UNMC Bookstore or LiveGreen.

"This is something that people on campus have been requesting for quite some time, and with savings from energy curtailment efforts this summer, Facilities was able to purchase these bins," Stewart said. "We hope the contest will increase awareness of the locations of these new bins and make it easier for people to recycle on campus."

Stop by the DRC Commons, the Nebraska Cafe or the Sorrell Center Commons on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a chance to guess the number of recyclable plastic forks in containers. The winner will receive a UNMC LiveGreen polo shirt and second place will receive a UNMC LiveGreen T-shirt.
