UNMC's Miss Nebraska aims to promote science in schoolsNicole Haverland, a graduate student in the department of pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, has been named Miss Nebraska.
Haverland was Miss Douglas County and finished third runner up to Scanlan in the Miss Nebraska pageant in October.
Her pageant platform was to advocate for more science education in schools, a message she plans to advance during her term as Miss Nebraska.
