|Expect brilliant foliage such as this when our new October Glory Maple's leaves turn this coming fall. The tree will go into the ground today during a campus ceremony at 11:30 a.m.|
The ceremony is the first in a weeklong series of events to recognize Earth Week at UNMC.
October Glory Maple Trees:
- Are among the most common deciduous trees of eastern North America.
- Range from the border between Ontario and Minnesota, east to Newfoundland, south to Miami and back to the southwest into east Texas.
- Can grow to about 50 feet tall.
- Are known for the brilliant colors they display in the fall.
