Forecasts point to temperatures in the 100s today. Employees are urged to take some simple steps to help keep the pressure off the campus cooling system.
As such, employees are reminded to take steps to keep the load off the campus cooling system.

To help ease the load, employees can:

  • Close shades, blinds and curtains whenever possible to reduce solar heat gain;
  • Lower lighting levels where possible and turn off lights in unoccupied areas; and
  • Turn off and unplug all electrical equipment not in use (computers, coffee makers, printers, chargers, etc.), especially in offices.

A collective effort in these areas during the current heat spell can have significant financial and environmental impact.
