EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES The McGoogan Library of Medicine is the health sciences library for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the only state-supported academic health sciences library in Nebraska. The McGoogan Library houses a growing collection of information in traditional and nontraditional formats ranging from the visual to the electronic. The library currently subscribes to over 2,100 of the world's most influential biomedical journals, and maintains a collection of approximately 235,586 volumes. The library continually works to increase our electronic holdings, with a focus on materials that are accessible from off-campus. Currently, most of the library's subscribed databases are available for remote access, along with over 250 full-text electronic journals. Our reference and education services are intended to facilitate use of the library and all its resources. |
The Department of Biomedical Communications offers extensive audiovisual support, producing slide, overhead and video presentations as well as graphics for publications for faculty and residents. In addition, the latest in computer-generated images and satellite conferences are supported by Biomedical Communications. The Family Medicine Department provides computer resources including facilities for literature searches, word processing and research. |
