TARGET AUDIENCE: Advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, and other interested healthcare professionals, especially those caring for cancer patients.

 
     
 

PROGRAM GOAL: To educate oncology nurses about guideline-based treatments recommended for Medicare beneficiaries with colorectal cancer and the disparities among certain groups within that population.

 
     
 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this program, the participant should be better able to:

  • Describe current guidelines for follow-up care of colorectal cancer survivors.
  • Discuss how these guidelines are applied in clinical management of elderly patients.
  • Explain reasons for disparities between recommended care and that received by elderly patients.
