TARGET AUDIENCE: Emergency Department Nurses

PROGRAM GOAL: To educate emergency room physicians and nurses on hemophilia and how to care for patients who present in the ED.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this program, the participant should be better able to:

• Describe the coagulopathy of hemophilia, its levels of severity and its treatment.
• Triage the order of hemophilia emergency care.
• List potential sites of hemophilia bleeding in order of severity.
• Demonstrate assessment skills in various bleeding episode scenarios.
• Calculate factor concentrate doses.
