Triage Basics

You will assume the role of a triage team member assisting in the triage of casualties at a busy urban intersection where a chemical spill has occurred. You'll need to search for all the casualties, assess their status and assign them a triage tag. After calling the triage you will go through the debriefing where your choices will be reviewed.

After completing this module you will be able to:

  • Recognize the four colors of triage classification and what they represent.
  • Understand the triage techniques required for each level of status tag.
  • Appreciate the time management skills required to successfully triage a mass casualty incident in a timely manner.
