A sneak peak at Scotty and the Grateful Meds

Check out the video to get a first glance at Scotty and the Grateful Meds -- a band that includes Omaha philanthropist Bill Scott and several musicians from UNMC.

The band will perform Tuesday at the dedication ceremony for the UNMC Student Plaza.

Ruth and Bill Scott made the lead gift that made the plaza's construction possible.

Scotty and the Grateful Meds are:

  • Bill Scott (Scotty)-- Horns and vocals
  • John Scott (Bill's son) -- Trumpet
  • Greg Bociek, M.D., UNMC oncologist -- Keyboard
  • Kay-Uwe Wagner, Ph.D., UNMC researcher -- Guitar
  • Steve LaHood -- Drums
  • Alex Brugler, third-year medical student -- Clarinet
  • Michael Boska, Ph.D., radiology professor -- Congas
  • Marissa Stanton, Ph.D., postdoc researcher -- Bass
