Register now for the Sept. 11-13 global health conference in Omaha 
The Midwestern Regional Global Health conference will be Sept. 11-13 at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Omaha. UNMC's International Studies and Programs and Student Alliance for Global Health sponsor the one-of-a-kind conference. Donna Barry, advocacy and policy director at Partners in Health, will give the keynote address. Other speakers include:
  • Ed Atwell, M.D., founder and president of Medical Outreach of America, established in 2009;
  • Keith Brown, D.O., founder of Global Medicine Rescue Services, which specializes in training courses in wilderness, expedition, remote and austere medicine that are offered in Central American and Pakistan; and
  • John Leisure, creative/development director of the Engeye Health Clinic in Ddegeya Village in southern Uganda.
Attendees will see Irene Taylor Brodsky's 2008 Academy Award nominated documentary, The Final Inch, which shows the public health mission to eradicate polio.
