Camp Quality Heartland seeks volunteers
Camp Quality Heartland, a non-profit organization that provides free camping experiences and year-round activities for children with cancer and their siblings, seeks volunteers. Campers are children with cancer and their siblings, and range in age from 4 to 18 years old. A number of faculty and staff from UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center are volunteers in the organization. Volunteers are needed to be camp companions that will work one-on-one with children during the camp, which will be held June 8-13 in Bellevue, Neb. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, complete an application, face-to-face interview and pass reference and police background checks. Those interested in applying to be a camp volunteer can contact Marcia Hopkins at sapphiangl@aol.com or 712-366-0676. More information about the organization can be found at http://hl.campqualityusa.com/.
