Psychological first aid on May 15
UNMC will offer a psychological first aid course on Saturday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014. Psychological First Aid is a course that is required by most national disaster response teams. The purpose of the Nebraska Psychological First Aid program is to equip helpers to provide psychological support to survivors of critical events (e.g. disasters, conflicts, accidents, etc.). This training program is 8 hours long and is segmented into seven modules, each addressing critical skills that can make an immediate and lasting impact on a person's psychological health following a crisis. Register and take a short pre-test online. Registration is limited to 50 participants.
