Special Olympics symposium set for July 17 
A Special Olympics US Games Health Symposium titled "Improving Health for People with Intellectual Disability - Policy, Practice and Possibility" will be held July 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Auditorium. The symposium is free and lunch will be served. The event is open to anyone interested in the health of people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, including:
  • Individuals with ID/DD;
  • Family and friends;
  • Health care and allied health care professionals and students;
  • Educators;
  • Child care croviders;
  • Youth groups;
  • Service providers;
  • Representatives of governmental or advocacy agencies;
  • Policy makers; and
  • Media.
