Service learning project with the homeless features art exhibit
View an art exhibit and join the panel discussion focusing on homelessness and transformation. The event is one product of a UNMC Service Learning project in which students and guests living at the Sienna Francis House homeless shelter, engage in activities that unfold guests' stories, facilitate learning about homelessness, and encourage transformation. Interviews with homeless guests directed the development of health related activities to address needs, and inspired homeless artists to 'find their voice' and transform their lives. The Omaha Public Library downtown branch, is hosting this "Finding a Voice" exhibition, that will be available in its gallery for the month of February. The opening reception and panel discussion will be held on Feb. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30.
