Recover lost CINAHL, PsycINFO or MEDLINE (via EBSCO) search strategies
Several individuals who had permanently saved CINAHL, PsycINFO or MEDLINE (via EBSCO) searches have logged into their EBSCO accounts to find that their saved searches have disappeared. Library staff were contacted about the problem and contacted EBSCO to request assistance. The technical support folks at EBSCO have not been able to restore the saved searches to the individual EBSCO accounts. However, they have been able to retrieve the previously saved search strategies and send these to the library. The retrieved search strategies appear amidst some .html tags, but are still easily identifiable. The strategies can be copied and pasted into the appropriate database, and "re-saved." Conctact information for EBSCO's technical support staff can be found at http://support.epnet.com/contact/index.php. To retrieve your search strategies, the EBSCO support staff will first need the username and password you use to access your saved searches. Note that Alerts saved in CINAHL, PsycINFO or MEDLINE (via EBSCO) appear to be unaffected by the recent EBSCO problem, but you may want to check on any alerts you have saved to be sure they still appear in your EBSCO account. Contact Cindy Schmidt (559-7077 cmschmidt@unmc.edu) in the Library if you have any questions.
