Citations made easier: Basic RefWorks training
RefWorks can help you keep track of the literature that is important to your work and create papers that cite that literature. McGoogan Library recently purchased a site license for RefWorks making it possible for all UNMC-affiliated individuals to create free, individual, RefWorks accounts. During "Citations Made Easier: Basic RefWorks Training," Cindy Schmidt, one of UNMC's reference librarians, will show you how to create a RefWorks database and then how to use the database to insert citations in papers and create bibliographies in just minutes. You also will learn how to create and share reading lists that include links to any electronic full-text articles available through the library. This hands-on class will be offered as follows:
  • Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1 to 2:30 p.m.;
  • Thursday, Oct. 5, 9 to 10:30 a.m.;
  • Monday, Nov. 6, 1 to 2:30 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Dec. 5, 9 to 10:30 a.m.
All classes will be in the Library's Wilson Training Room (8th floor, Wittson Hall). Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, e-mail Schmidt at cmschmidt@unmc.edu providing your name, contact information and preferred class time. Enrollment is on a first come, first served basis and is limited to 12 students per class. Schmidt also will provide RefWorks instruction (either one-on-one instruction or classroom instruction) at other times. Contact her at cmschmidt@unmc.edu or 559-7077 to make arrangements.
