Older adult sensitivity training is Aug. 21 workshop
The UNMC Eppley Cancer Center is sponsoring an interactive workshop titled "Older Adult Sensitivity Training" on Monday, Aug. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater. Workshop presenter Anita Woods, Ph.D., assistant professor of medicine and director, Huffington Center on Aging Baylor College of Medicine, Section of Geriatrics, will help participants identify the unique needs of older adults and enhance the communication skills necessary for improved understanding between clinicians and their older adult patients. Food will be provided. There is no registration fee. RSVP by calling (800) 292-6204 and using program ID No. 20258856. The target audience is primary care physicians, specialists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, case managers, social workers, health services researchers, public health professionals, students, or anyone in the health care field.
