Bone densitometry course Aug. 18-19 
Sarah Morgan, M.D., medical director of the University of Alabama Osteoporosis Prevention & Treatment Clinic, will present a bone densitometry course on Aug. 18-19 at the Omaha Doubletree Hotel at 16th and Dodge streets. The ISCD Bone Densitometry Course provides education in bone densitometry. The core elements of the program provide a set of standard practices and information to raise the level of awareness and education in bone densitometry. The course emphasizes central DXA testing but also provides information on other forms of bone mass measurement, including peripheral DXA and QCT. Two courses will be offered. The Clinician Course is open to M.D.s, D.os, Ph.D.s, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The Technologist course is open to technologists or allied health professionals performing DXA scan. The Clinician Course will provide 12 Section 1 Credits through the CAR. The Clinician Course for Technologists qualifies for up to 14 category A credits through the ASRT. The Technologists Course qualifies for up to 12.5 category A credits through the ASRT. The course will cost $595. Registration for the ISCD Bone Densitometry Course and Certification Exam must be made directly with ISCD. Course details, a registration form and online submission are available at www.iscd.org.
