Omaha Women's Health and Wellness Conference Oct. 5 
Women are invited to attend the 10th annual Omaha Women's Health and Wellness Conference on Friday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The conference is titled "Healthy Living in a Hectic World." Educational health and wellness speakers, exhibits, continental breakfast and lunch, and free and low cost health screenings, will be included.

The conference is sponsored by UNMC, Olson Center for Women's Health, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, The Nebraska Medical Center and Wellness Council of the Midlands. The cost of the conference is $40. For an additional $30, nurses can receive 4.3 continuing education credits (5.3 for Iowa nurses). Limited scholarships are available for women with financial restrictions.

Breakfast keynote speaker will be Marlene Schneider, counselor, UNMC Faculty Employee Assistance Program, and Randall Associates, whose talk will be titled, "Balancing Your Life." Teri Gabel, Pharm.D., consultant pharmacist with Drug Therapy Consultants and clinical pharmacy specialist with psychiatry, VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System, will make a presentation during a general session titled, "Natural Approaches to Stress." The luncheon keynote speaker will be Jennifer White, Ph.D., assistant professor, UNO School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Her presentation titled, "Keep the Wellness Wheel Moving," will focus on the struggles women face while trying to maintain healthy choices. The afternoon will feature two breakout sessions with presentations on a variety of topics.
