Electrical shutdown on Sept. 17 to affect several buildings
On Monday, Sept. 17, there will be a momentary interruption (shut off) of normal electrical power to each main electrical switchboard that serves all levels of the following buildings:
  • Administration Center,
  • UMA Eye Specialties/Lions Eye Bank,
  • College of Nursing,
  • College of Pharmacy,

  • 4230 Building/Data Center.
This will cause a brief outage (for a few minutes) of all air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, lighting, receptacles, motors, computers and other devices throughout the building. This shut off is required to facilitate upgrades of the normal electrical services to the new Michael F Sorrell Center for Health Science Education. The interruption schedule is as follows:

  • Student Life Center at 6:45 p.m.
  • College of Nursing/College of Pharmacy at 7 p.m.

  • UMA Eye Spec/Lions Eye Bank at 7:30 p.m.
