SAGH 2007-08 'Making Coffee Strong' fundraiser underway
The Student Alliance for Global Health (SAGH) is offering fairly traded coffee, tea, and chocolate products for their annual "Making Coffee Strong" fund raiser. These products are grown by small farmers in underdeveloped and developing countries. Through fair trade, these farmers are able to live lives that most of us take for granted -- with safe working conditions, fair compensation and dignity. New this year, SAGH is selling a special blend of organically grown coffees from Ethiopia and Timor under the label "Nothing But Nets: Marrakesh Express." SAGH is donating the proceeds of the sales of this coffee to the "Nothing But Nets" campaign to distribute insecticide-treated malaria bed nets throughout Africa. For more information, visit www.NothingButNets.net. The list of the products offered and their descriptions can be found on the International Studies & Programs Web site. Completed order forms with payment may be sent to IS&P for on-campus delivery. SAGH members also will be selling selected products in Wittson Hall during the noon hours. For more information, call IS&P at 559-6414.
