Body piercing and health care the focus of Oct. 21 Olson Center Brown Bag
If you think your patients aren't pierced, you're not looking! Body piercing has become very popular in American society, but most people who work in health care know nothing about this form of body art. Join us at the next Olson Center brown bag lecture on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from noon to 1 p.m. in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater as Anita Jaynes, certified nurse midwife at the Olson Center for Women's Health explains how and why people obtain piercings, common medical complications and treatment, management of piercing sites, and body jewelry in the medical setting, and more. You do not need to be a health care provider to attend this presentation. Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 559-6345. Bring your lunch and refreshments will be provided. The lectures are free. However if you would like to obtain nursing credit, the cost to obtain nursing contact hours is $5. Payment instructions will be given when you pre-register.
