Blue Barn Theatre offers health care discount to Thursday performances of Wit
The Blue Barn Theatre is excited to once again present the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit by Margaret Edson. As a special appreciation for anyone in the health care profession or anyone studying to be in the health care profession, the theatre extends a special discounted rate of only $15! The special price will be available on any Thursday night performance (March 19 and 26, and April 2 and 9; performances begin at 7:30 p.m.). Please mention the "health care discount" discount when making your reservations. The play deals with the dilemmas that face both the patient and a patient's medical team in dealing with acute disease, the application of radical medical treatment and the effects of these treatments on the patient's life, as well as the constant awareness of the possibility of imminent death. Wit tells the story of Vivian Bearing's final battle with ovarian cancer. As a strict and calculating professor of 17th Century literature, she uses her love of scholarship to steer her though a rigorous treatment of chemotherapy. Ultimately, she realizes that academic talent is a poor substitute for warmth and kindness. The Blue Barn Theatre sits at 614 S. 11th St. in Omaha. For more information and tickets call 345-1576.
