Joslyn curator to speak today

What: Toby Jurovics, Joslyn Art Museum's chief curator, will give an illustrated talk today on the UNMC campus.

Jurovics' noon presentation will focus on three exhibitions showcasing modern and contemporary artists working in painting, photography and video installation. All three are currently on view at the Joslyn.

The exhibitions are:

  • Route 36: Photographs by William Wylie
  • Jennifer Steinkamp: Madame Curie
  • Ten Masterworks from the Whitney Museum of American Art

When: Noon today

Where: Sorrell Center, Room 2014

The event is offered through the Passport Partners program, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus. Employees are encouraged to bring their lunch.

Gettysburg lecture

The Durham Museum presents "The Path to Gettysburg," with Mark Scherer, Ph.D., associate professor and chairman of the history department at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. The lecture will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the College of Nursing, Room 2017.
