Each day this week -- which is Environmental Services Week -- we'll get to know one of our campus environmental services workers who keep the medical center clean and running smooth.

Today we meet:

Name: Sherri Lindsay

Title: Environmental Services Worker

Years at UNMC: 13 years, eight months

Buildings I work at: The Lied Transplant Center (previously Munroe-Meyer Institute, Sorrell Center, Durham Research Center)

Compliments accepted

If you'd like to applaud an EVS worker this week, leave a message in the "Comments" field below. Tell us who you want to thank and what a great job they do.

Favorite thing about UNMC: It's a place where you can get a lot of help, where people care about each other and show compassion. It's a great place to work.

Three things you don't know about me:

  • I have a pronoun name. She, he, her and I are all in my name. I'm a people person.
  • I like to get to know people and learn about different lifestyles. I met a girl from England, and she told me all about where she was from and about the foods they eat there.
  • I'm very creative and original, especially with fashion and putting outfits together.

Karin is right, Sherri: we miss you at MMI. I have to add that Sherri is caring, compassionate, funny, and committed to doing her job well. MMI's loss is the Lied Transplant Center's gain.

Loretta on 6 Neuro in Clarkson Tower does a FANTASTIC job. She is always so helpful and friendly and has a smile on her face at all times. I don't work on campus anymore, but whenever I'm there, I make sure to stop on 6 Neuro just to say hello to Loretta!

Linda Flowers does a terrific job in Bennett Hall. She is here every day (early-early!) with a smile and takes such good care of us all. She knows us by name, knows our habits, and brings a smile to my face every time I see her.
