This activity will discuss the characteristics of a resilient person and the warning signs including interpersonal interactions to identify in a colleague who may be in emotional or psychological distress. The presentation will describe strategies for building personal and professional resilience in order to develop a culture that promotes and respects wellness and work-life balance.

Target Audience

Nurses and interested health care providers and members of the community

Educational Objectives

  • Review relevant history and physical exam for the pre-conception visit
  • Discuss recommendations for pre-conception laboratory evaluation and for maximizing pre-conception health
  • Review normal menstrual physiology, “Fertile window”, and guidelines for when additional evaluation/testing may be recommended after trying to conceive without success
