Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designated for all healthcare providers, researchers, and scholars either regional or international, interested in transitions, aging, or phenomenological methods.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe how phenomenology can be used in research, education, or practice.
- Articulate ways the philosophical content on “becoming older” can be applied to other lived transitions, personal or related to a population of interest.
- Discuss methods for enhancing phenomenological research in healthcare by integrating a hermeneutic perspective to better grasp patients' experiences within their cultural framework.
- Foster dialogue using practical applications of phenomenology in healthcare, utilizing skills for listening, assessing, and communicating about common human challenges to enhance patient care.
Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Institute for Hermeneutic Phenomenology. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. ANCC contact hours will be provided. Total hours are still being determined.
