Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designated for all nurses, physical therapists, and other health care professionals involved in wound, ostomy, and continence care.
Learning Outcomes
- Integrate key updates from the 2025 NPIAP Pressure Injury Guidelines into clinical practice, focusing on advancements in prevention, assessment, and management to enhance patient care.
- Identify evidence-based strategies for recognizing and managing skin failure across diverse healthcare settings, ensuring early identification and appropriate interventions.
- Examine the distinct roles and contributions of interdisciplinary healthcare teams - including nurses, physical therapists, and other professionals - in driving change and implementing best practices in wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) care.
- Foster collaboration and patient-centered care by utilizing best practices in WOC management, ensuring a unified approach to improving patient outcomes across healthcare settings.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Midwest Chapter of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for up to 9.75 ANCC contact hours.
