Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, administrators, and other interested members of the healthcare team who provide or support preceptorship or clinical instruction to new employees or students.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Explain the significance of professional identity in nursing and its impact on enhancing patient outcomes and professional practice across all levels of nursing.
- Identify strategies and methodologies to assess, support, and enhance the ongoing professional development of nurses and preceptors, mitigating burnout and ensuring sustainable practice environments.
- Discuss innovative transition to practice models tailored to meet the unique needs of nurses transitioning their practice roles, ultimately improving retention and satisfaction within the nursing workforce.
- Identify precepting competencies and roles that are essential for skilled functioning of the preceptor to promote learning.
