    Ostomy Workshop: Foundational Knowledge and Skills – Learning Objectives

    • Identify ostomy type, stoma characteristics, output, and skin integrity during focused ostomy and peristomal assessments.
    • Discuss appropriate selection of ostomy products and accessories using patient-specific case scenarios.
    • Apply clinical reasoning to common ostomy challenges through interactive decision-making scenarios.
    • Integrate discharge planning and care transitions into ostomy management.
    • Document ostomy care accurately, including assessment findings and indications for referral.

    Lymphedema Workshop: Applied Wrapping Techniques to Reduce Edema – Learning Objectives

    • Differentiate types of edema affecting the lower quadrant, include venous, lymphatic, and mixed etiologies.
    • Identify clinical and community-based resources including indications for referral to a certified lymphedema specialist for management of lower quadrant lymphedema.
    • Apply evidence-informed compression and wrapping techniques including lower extremity, toe, and genital/scrotal edema management to reduce edema and support wound healing.
    • Select appropriate compression strategies, including short-stretch, medium-stretch, and long-stretch systems for appropriate management of lymphedema.
    • Discuss appropriate documentation, billing, and coding practices related to lower quadrant lymphedema and associated wounds.
