Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for nurses in all levels of practice and settings, as well as other healthcare professionals interested in physical and psychological safety.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Discuss strategies to foster civility, mutual respect, and collaboration among healthcare professionals to enhance workplace culture and team well-being.
- Describe integrated approaches for preventing and responding to workplace safety threats as presented by experts from public safety, emergency management, and law enforcement.
- Explain key components of physical and psychological safety in healthcare settings and recognize how these factors impact staff performance and patient outcomes.
- Examine evidence-based approaches to support mental health and resilience among healthcare providers, promoting long-term workforce retention and satisfaction.
- Develop a personal or organizational action plan to continue learning and applying principles of safety, civility, and mental health advocacy within their professional practice.
Accredited Continuing Education
In support of improving patient care, University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 4.0 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity.
