Personal Protective Equipment: N95 Disposable Filtering Facepiece Respirator - Donning & Doffing

In this new video we demonstrate the critical safety steps involved in correctly donning and doffing an N95 disposable filtering facepiece respirator, and how to perform a seal check prior to rendering patient care in any setting. We also show the most common mistakes made when placing the straps on your head.

In the early phases of a novel infection, airborne protection is commonly used. In order to protect first responders and healthcare providers from exposure to airborne and novel pathogens, the correct use of an N95 respirator is an important first step.

Anyone who would like to incorporate the video into their organization's LMS can download a copy via the "Download Media" section at the foot of the website.

New Print Resource

In addition to the N95 respirator video we have created a guide that you can download and print. This can then be placed outside patient rooms, at nurses stations, in supply rooms and other points around your facility as a reminder of the correct steps involved when donning and doffing an N95 respirator.
