If you have not already done so, please refer to the following link for basic information about the GOODLIFE/SHARING Clinics, including an overview of its purpose, hours, and location:
http://unmc.edu/sharing/.

The purpose of this web site is to prepare pre-clinical medical students for working with patients with diabetes mellitus in the GOODLIFE Clinic (second Wednesday of the month) and at the SHARING Clinic on Tuesdays.

It will help you understand the “what, how, and why” of the history, physical exam, and lab studies that go on at the clinics. You will also find some basic information on treatment, both counseling and medical therapy. While your attending physician will be present for this part of the encounter, it will be helpful for you to have a basic understanding of this common disease.

Unless otherwise cited, the information contained is taken from the ADA Clinical Practice Recommendations (See Forms/Links). Some ADA recommendations differ from other published guidelines in regards to BP and lipids.
