In this video we describe the steps involved for successfully doffing N95 Level Personal Protective Equipment.
N95 Level PPE can be worn while caring for a patient with a Highly Hazardous Communicable Disease or HHCD.

Correct donning, doffing and reuse techniques when using procedure and/or surgical masks is essential in helping to prevent contamination from, and the spread of pathogens of concen.
This video demonstrates these techniques including mask storage via paper towels and paper bags when being used in a limited reuse situation.
Additional information on paper bag storage can be found in the Nebraska Medicine video "Proper Donning & Doffing of Procedural and Surgical Masks".
In this video, we’ll discuss important points for safe use of cloth face coverings.
Respirators and surgical masks are important tools for health care providers. Cloth face coverings allow non-healthcare providers to stay safe without impacting critical health care supplies during a pandemic or epidemic in our community.
Wearing cloth face coverings will contain most droplets that are spread during common activities such as talking, singing, coughing and sneezing.
The CDC website provides additional information about creating your own cloth face coverings.
In this video we demonstrate potential approaches for donning and doffing of an N95 filtering facepiece respirator in a Limited Reuse situation. This video was developed based on the CDC guidelines for NIOSH approved N95 respirators.
Please note: During this extraordinary time of the COVID-19 pandemic, institutions are developing methods to extend wear and reuse N95 respirators. These methods are needed in order to preserve the supply of N95 respirators for patient care. The information in this video should not be interpreted to contradict facility-specific directions and special decontamination and reuse programs.
For the full set of guidelines please visit the following CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/ppe-strategy/decontamination-reuse-respirators.html
In this video we demonstrate the critical safety steps involved in correctly donning and doffing an N95 disposable filtering facepiece respirator, and how to perform a seal check prior to rendering patient care in any setting. We also show the most common mistakes made when placing the straps on your head.
In the early phases of a novel infection, airborne protection is commonly used. In order to protect first responders and healthcare providers from exposure to airborne and novel pathogens, the correct use of an N95 respirator is an important first step.
